Building Your UAE Business From Day One
First-time founders, solo operators, and early-stage teams — the UAE is one of the most accessible jurisdictions in the world to start in. We make sure you start it correctly.
A Pragmatic Start
A Setup Designed Around Your Stage
Most entrepreneurs do not need an expensive enterprise-grade structure on day one. They need a clean licence in the right activity, a workable visa, and a bank account that will accept a young business — without paying for services they will only use later.
That is the conversation we have with first-time founders and early-stage operators. The right free zone, the right number of visas, the right activity codes, the right banking partner for your stage. You can always upgrade later, but starting in the wrong structure costs more than getting it right at the start.
We also help with the operational pieces that catch new founders off guard — establishment cards, Emirates ID, corporate-tax registration, ILOE insurance, document legalisation, and the introductions you need to be operational.
How We Help
Stage-Appropriate, Cost-Aware
The advice for a solo founder is different from the advice for a five-person team. We tailor accordingly.
Structure Selection for Startups
The right legal structure at formation affects everything from visa eligibility to fundraising. We assess your business model and recommend mainland, free zone, or hybrid structures accordingly.
Licence & Registration End-to-End
Full formation from trade name reservation through to licence issuance — including Memorandum of Association, share structure, and authority submissions.
Visa & Residency Planning
Entrepreneurs can qualify for a range of UAE residency options depending on their company structure and activity. We advise on the most appropriate visa pathway alongside formation.
Cost Transparency
We provide a clear formation cost estimate — authority fees, formation charges, and recurring renewal costs — before any engagement begins.
Free Zone Ecosystem Access
Startup-focused free zones offer co-working, networking, and incubator benefits alongside the licence. We factor these into our zone recommendations where relevant.
How It Works
A Simple Four-Step Setup
Free Discovery Call

Licence application, visa processing, Emirates ID, establishment card — handled in parallel.
Bank & Go-Live
Bank introductions, account opening, and the post-incorporation registrations (corporate tax, ILOE) that get you fully operational.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Common Questions From Entrepreneurs Setting Up in the UAE
For early-stage entrepreneurs, a freezone flexi-desk or shared office package typically offers the lowest entry cost while still providing a valid trade licence, visa eligibility, and a UAE business address. Jurisdictions such as IFZA, Meydan Free Zone, and UAQ Free Trade Zone are frequently recommended for budget-conscious startups. The appropriate choice also depends on your activity type and whether you need to operate on the UAE mainland.
A freezone company can be structured and managed remotely in many cases, with digital-first operations. However, if you require UAE residency — to open bank accounts in your own name, obtain an Emirates ID, or live in the UAE — you will need to be physically present during specific steps of the visa application process. We advise on which steps are remote-friendly and which require your presence.
All UAE businesses are required to register for Corporate Tax with the Federal Tax Authority, regardless of whether they are expected to be liable to pay tax. Registration is mandatory and there are penalties for failing to register by the applicable deadline. Businesses with annual revenue below AED 375,000 are taxed at 0%, and qualifying small business relief may further reduce the administrative burden.
UAE corporate bank account opening has become more rigorous in recent years. Traditional banks such as Emirates NBD, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, and Mashreq require documented business plans, proof of trading activity, and in-person attendance by shareholders. For startups, some freezone-linked banks and digital banking providers offer faster onboarding. We assist clients in preparing their banking application and connecting them with relationship managers.
Several initiatives support UAE startups: Hub71 in Abu Dhabi offers investment-backed programmes for technology companies; the Dubai Future Accelerators runs sector-specific cohorts; and various freezone authorities provide reduced-cost packages for startups in targeted sectors such as fintech, healthtech, and cleantech. Eligibility varies and programmes open and close on a rolling basis — we keep track of what is current.
