FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
UAE Jobseeker Visa — Frequently Asked Questions
The UAE Jobseeker Visa is a multi-entry permit valid for 60 days (extendable for a further 60 days) that allows foreign nationals to enter the UAE specifically to search for employment. Unlike a standard tourist visa, the Jobseeker Visa is specifically designed for people who intend to transition to a residence and employment visa once they secure a job. It is issued through the ICP (Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship).
Eligibility is based on educational and professional qualification. Applicants typically need to hold a minimum of a bachelor's degree from a recognised university, with higher-ranking universities and in-demand specialisations potentially qualifying for an easier or more streamlined process. There is no minimum salary requirement for the Jobseeker Visa itself, but once employment is secured, the employment visa requirements of the employer's sponsoring authority will apply.
No. The Jobseeker Visa is a permit to enter and search for employment — it does not authorise paid work. Once an employment offer is accepted, the employer initiates the employment visa process, which transitions the individual to a valid work residence visa. Working without a valid work permit constitutes a violation of UAE immigration law.
Required documents typically include a valid passport, recent passport-sized photograph, a copy of the applicant's degree certificate with proper attestation, curriculum vitae, and proof of financial means (bank statements demonstrating sufficient funds to support a stay). Health insurance covering the visa duration is also required. We prepare the complete application pack and submit it through the correct channel.
If employment is not secured by the expiry of the Jobseeker Visa, the holder must either apply for an extension (if eligible) or depart the UAE before the visa expires to avoid overstay fines. The visa can be reapplied for from outside the UAE if the applicant continues their job search, subject to the same eligibility criteria.
